Owner, Therapist, + Trainer | Ph.D., LPC, NCC 

Aaron is a counselor, teacher, coach, public speaker, and researcher. He works with individuals, groups, couples, and adults to support their success in conquering obstacles on their path and provides clinical supervision to counselors seeking professional licensure. He offers workshops and training to small groups and organizations working to grow in equity and social justice. His approach incorporates experiential learning and fosters brave, transformative spaces.

Over the course of his sixteen year career, Aaron spent six years counseling at-risk adults and juveniles around the state of Colorado and served as Executive Vice President and Part Owner of the Perklen Center for Psychotherapy in Greeley, Colorado. Aaron is the Chief Operating Officer at Henderson Consulting and EAP Services and an adjunct professor of counseling at Palo Alto University in California.

Outside the office, Aaron fuels his soul on the golf course, watching football, singing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

COUNSELING

Therapy services for individuals (adolescent & adult) and couples with special focus on inviting clients to explore their personal identities, navigate dynamics of oppression on an individual, systemic, and institutional level, and engage the work of becoming an ally.

Dr. Henderson often draws from his experiences as an athlete to create metaphors and connect with clients.

SUPERVISION

Ongoing review and direction of the clinical practice of graduate-level counseling students and Licensed Professional Counselor Candidates in Colorado.

Dr. Henderson holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and has 15 years experience teaching college courses and 15 years teaching Master's level courses.

CONSULTING

Organizational consultation to assist you in building a more equitable community through multicultural competency and D.E.I.B. Dr. Henderson's work assists you in building awareness, knowledge, and skills as a leader in your field, organization, or team.

 

Limited experiential learning opportunities may be available depending on need and fit. 

SENG

Dr. Henderson has a passion for Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted community.

 

Over the past decade, Dr. Henderson has facilitated SENG groups for school districts across the state of Colorado and has worked closely with gifted families and individuals to identify needs and equip them with the right tools and resources to be successful.
